Greatest Work-life Lessons I learned from Small Things
Do you have to drag yourself to work every Monday morning?
Do you feel like even 30-minute overtime without pay is already a huge violation of your human rights?
Do you stick to your job because of the salary or your friends there?
Do you feel like you ought to be somewhere else even after jumping from one workplace to another?
You are not alone.
I believe these happen to many of us.
We can feel like we are going around in circles in life looking for the “best” job. The result? Discontentment and unhealthy workplace relationships — competition, bickering, workplace politics, and so on.
It happened to me. So I prayed to God for direction (Yup, I’m a Christian).
One afternoon, as I was praying, I noticed an ant going around in circles on the floor. Honestly, I felt God was talking to me through this tiny creature. So I tried to observe it. Then I got fascinated. So since then, I started studying about them.
I can tell you — it has changed my perspective.
A Great Paradox
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! (Proverbs 6:6)
