Oh, hi!
You caught me at a bad time. I’m actually preaching to myself here, for 1 Corinthians 11:31 says:
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
So that’s exactly what I’m doing. But should you want to eavesdrop, be my guest, and let’s judge ourselves together.
My sensible self: My dear overly spiritual self, you are well aware, right — that if you don’t have love, you are nothing?
My overly spiritual self: Of course, I do. Who doesn’t? And what’s your point?
My sensible self: Let me show you what I’ve found. 1 Corinthians 13:2 says:
…and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
It doesn’t say “I have nothing”, rather “I am nothing”.
My overly spiritual self: And so?
My sensible self: But you knew that, of course. I remember now. You even read it on different Bible versions — KJV, ESV, AMP, NIV, CSP, NLT, etc. Not to mention Tagalog, Visayan and Hiligaynon versions. And how many times have you gone through that portion of Scripture your entire life? Like an expert theologian, you can define it full well. And since that’s not enough, you’ve studied the Ancient…
