Which part of the Scriptures does it say that we can stay in the old ways when we come to personally know the Jesus?

No matter how you want to interpret it, Jesus’ words are simple: Unless one is born again, he cant see the Kingdom of God. That means , unless one is changed and become a new person BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS, when they received Jesus into their lives. So this is only possible if one has Jesus in their lives. There are millions or more testimonies of this worldwide. Many people’s lives have been changed. Those can attest to the power of the cross to save us.

Note: It is not by the person’s stength.
This is not my own interpretation. This is what the Scriptures says and what the apostles declared. No matter how you read the Bible, flip it, etc. God will not contradict His word.

That’s why we must not try to twist Scriptures to fit our desires. The word of God is not to be debated, but to be lived. And no matter what Bible interpretation you go to – KJV, NIV, ESV, or Greek, or even Hebrew, one can’t fail to get what Jesus was saying. He made it simple. Eternity is too long to be wrong. So we cant just make assumptions.

Salvation and the born again experience seem impossible in human’s point of view but it is possible with God. So we cant have an excuse before Him. He already gave His Son to die on the cross for us , for this reason.

And looking at the woman with lust means having the sexual desires for that person. And this is impossible without God’s grace, as well. Only God gives a person a new heart. Again, by His grace, and not our strength.

That’s why Ezekiel 36:26 says, "And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart."

So we only get to have a new heart when we receive it from God. So we are
changed. He doesn’t let us stay in the old ways. For out of the heart comes all evil. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick. So God gives us a new one when we believe. And out of the new heart, we can stop desiring evil things, and we start acting upon our new desires.

He doesn’t let us fight this battle alone. God has given us the solution – the grace to live godly lives. That is, Jesus paid it for us at the cross. Jesus came to earth, was beaten, crucified, died and ressurected – and these were not for nothing. If we are not saved, then His death was in vain. But it was not.

And all God ask from us is very simple. Jesus already did the job at the cross to make this possible. All we need to do is receive this gift. Repent, and by faith, confess that Jesus is Lord.
